The Pomes In A Pail Creative Team:
South African Native KARENA MENDOZA is an award-
winning composer and former opera singer. In 2004 she won Best Song
Writing at the New York International Fringe Festival for Africa &
Plumbridge. Mendoza is Musical Director for the Art Miles Mural project.
STEPHANIE SNOW honed her songwriting skills in
Nashville and Theatre Building Chicago. But she credits her knack for
knowing what kids like to her years of teaching piano to the children of
Lyricist/screenwriter ALEXANDER JENNY is locked
away in a cabin in the northwoods, hard at work on a story with a happy
Producer/arranger ED TOSSING has arranged and
conducted string and bass ensembles on platinum CDs by Styx and
Dennis DeYoung. His keyboard credits include recordings by Barbara
Streisand, Peter Cetera, Burt Bacharach, Harry Nilsson, Jerry Butler and
Gene Chandler. Ed is the recipient of two Emmys for songwriting,
arranging and producing of several children's TV specials starring his wife
and producer/co-writer Gaia Tossing.
The Pomes In A Pail Singers:
Sixteen-year-old Rachel Cerrone of Riverside, featured
in six songs, has performed in musical productions in New York and
Ten-year-old Marianna Oharenko, a performer since the
age of four, has sung at numerous city festivals as a member of the
Chicago Children’s choir.
Michael Hall, 17, is a recent graduate of Glenbrook
North High School and former member of the musical group OW.
Wheaton resident Dana Roesner, 7, has performed in
Amahl and the Night Visitors at the North Shore Center for the Performing
Arts in Skokie.
Jackie Gessert, 13, Miss Indiana Pre-Teen 2005, can
currently be seen as Addy in the American Girl Theater productions of The
Revue and Circle of Friends.
Elmhurst native Giselle Ruecking, 17, performed in
Africa & Plumbridge at the New York International Fringe Festival and
Circle of Friends at American Girl Theater Chicago, where she originated
the role of Kit.
Jonah Zimmermann, 10, is a pianist and saxaphone
player, and performs in school musicals in Oak Park.
Gaia Galvan of Janesville, Wisconsin, one of the two
grown-up voices on the album, has over 20 years of experience as a
studio vocalist, jingles singer and performer in musicals.
Shy, smooth-singin' cowpoke Cal Renner was raised by a pack of wild Chihuahuas. Cal rides into town and works his magic behind the mic, only to disappear once again like a puff of campfire smoke. Giddyap, Cal.
