Rebecca earned a voice performance degree from Ithaca College, and has sung in operas, musicals and concerts, primarily throughout New York. Highlights include her title role in the world premier of “Rosalinda” in Miami (2007), as well as her role as Wendy in Leonard Bernstein’s concert adaptation of “Peter Pan” in NYC (2008), work-shopped by The Leonard Bernstein Publishing Company. Rebecca had the honor of performing at The White House for the President and First Lady last year with the Dickens Victorian Carolers, a professional a cappella ensemble she has worked with for three seasons.
Rebecca has sung as a soloist for church services and for synagogues for many years. Four years ago she discovered she had an affinity for writing music, and began to craft autobiographical songs about the ups and downs of urban life. This exploration, along with the years of exposure to sacred music, led her naturally into composing inspirational music. She has performed her music in clubs around Manhattan, and recently, as part of a lecture by speaker Ginny Luedeman (“Love and Completeness are Your Spiritual Right”, available through tmcyouth.com). Her music is melodious, truthful and filled with desire to bring light to everyday experiences. She is grateful to be joining the Watchfire Music Family, and hopes to share her sacred solos with churches around the world.
