Inspirational Song of the Week: Monday – Sunday, April 24 – 30, 2017
“Gracious” from “Playing the Grace Card”
Music and Lyrics by Alan Curtis
Songwriter and producer Alan Brian Curtis has had a rich career working as a songwriter, vocalist, guitarist and guitar synthesist. He’s also an avowed beachnik residing on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The natural beauty that abounds in every direction provides a continuous source of inspiration for him. Alan’s immediate plans are to continue learning to love God with heart, mind, soul, and strength and to love neighbor as himself. He is very excited to have an opportunity to bless others through music. From the most remote archipelago on the planet, he is able to broadcast his music to the most remote parts of the planet and everywhere in between. The irony is not lost on him.
“Alan combines Latin and World Beat rhythms offering up an Afro-Cuban- Puerto Rican-Carribean-Brazilian sound. It has the warmth of roots reggae with so much more. The guitar work is exceptional, but he also adds layers with synthesizer that would take a full orchestra to produce. He told me that his approach was ‘to use the available technology to produce as natural and organic sounding finished song as possible.’ My favorite song is ‘Gracious,’ which is an inspiring island gospel tune with a full backup chorus…” – Janie Franz, Music Up Close, Skopemag.com
“Alan professionally and tastefully changes colors from genre to genre. He lends himself to jazz and Latin- jazz but does not shy away from a musical challenge. Alan is a talent to be reckoned with, yet he is an extremely humble musician who seeks to learn and understand music in its entirety.” – Alex Pundyk, Indaba Music Blog

John Ruggiero: MAGNIFICENT! I love the WINGS CD! It is frequently played in my house.
Sally House Heinsohn: hi peter & julia,
thanks for posting this hymn -- it's gorgeous! i looked it up and found that it's in the methodist hymnal. since the accompaniment in the hymnal is rather sparse, i was wondering if you knew where i could get this arrangement
best to both --
Peter: Thank you Desiree. Coming from you, this is indeed high praise! I've long been a great fan of both you as a superb vocalist and as a writer as well. Moments like this always make all the effort worth it in a most special way.
