About Louise Maynard:
Solo Thoughts creator, Louise Maynard, is a career church musician and soloist. At her first church job in Gilroy, California in 1965, the church members encouraged her to seek new solos and to begin building her own personal solo library. As Louise’s music library grew, she created a concordance to find solos to go with the Bible Lesson-Sermons. Soon she shared this with music committees at churches wherever she sang, and the early roots of Solo Thoughts took shape. This ultimately became a quarterly publication that Louise has offered to churches nationwide for the past 15 years. Watchfire Music is proud to now take it one step further and offer Louise’s Solo Thoughts exclusively as an instant digital download.
Louise continues to maintain her website, www.solo-finder.com, a resource for church soloists.
About Susan Lindquist:
WFM Composer, Susan Lindquist is a main contributing editor of Solo Thoughts. She is also a singer/musician as well as a music researcher with a vast knowledge of sacred repertoire for the solo voice. As a soloist, Susan has sung in many churches all around the east and midwest regions of the U.S. In addition, Susan is a church organist and harpist. She performs regularly with singer Fran Bachmann in their harp and vocal duo, The Inspirations.
Susan began her music publishing company, SLVivace, in 1998 in order to publish her own sacred compositions. She soon began publishing the works of other composers as well. (See WFM Composers Allen, Barnes, Ezell and Newman.)
SLVivace offers music transposition services for singers, which is of key importance to Susan. As a vocalist herself, Susan knows that singers give their best performances when the music is in the right key for their individual voices.
