Listen to the Music!
This week we bring you Shadows Away, from Peter Link’s just-released album Remnants. The album was birthed from a recent move from NY to NJ, when Peter had the chance to reorganize his past life into a huge file cabinet, sitting for a couple of weeks and pouring over a lifetime of musical attempts. Through this cataloguing, he found some forgotten gems, a few interesting unfinished scraps and musings that were worth development and a few favorites that simply got lost in the shuffle of life and never really made it to recorded completion. Here, in Peter’s words, is the genesis of this particular Remnant:
“Here is a song that is a prayer. I was a kid just off the bus from St. Louis, arriving in New York City on a wing and a prayer. I had no idea of what lay ahead of me and whether or not I could ‘make it’ in New York City. But I had the enthusiasm of youth, the daring ‘nothing-can-stop-me-now’ naiveté that somehow strips away the fear of failure.
And yet there is in the song a mature understanding at age 24 that I wasn’t going to be able to succeed all by myself, that I needed God’s support in this new life.”
