Listen to the Music!
This week we are featuring Words Upon the Wall, from Peter Link’s newest album Remnants. Additionally, this song’s sheet music was released last year in Peter’s songbook Solos for Sunday Morning. The following are Peter’s thoughts on this tune:
“Here’s a song that experiences a moment we’ve all shared many times before, during, or after church, sitting in the quiet of God’s presence, applying what we’ve learned, struggling with life, seeking a solution … and then, there it is, written on the wall before us.
“When truth is so true, so well said, so clear that it warrants being written upon a wall for all to see, to study, and to remember, it achieves a permanency. It lives on through the ages.
“I always thought it interesting that graffiti is so hard to read. It’s usually someone’s name – someone desperate to be remembered. Or sometimes it’s a slander. Or sometimes a complaint. But the very nature of the artwork, though sometimes truly artful, is that it does not communicate well because its point is hidden in its unreadability.
“But the words upon the wall that this song speaks of are usually written clearly in gold lettering – and are truths to be treasured.”
