Julia Wade tenderly yet powerfully channels Mary Magdalene in this week’s song, The Christ Lives On. In the words of composer and lyricist Peter Link:
“Mary Magdalene’s love for Jesus has been discussed, imagined and debated down through the centuries. Theories abound ranging from Mary being the 13th disciple to romance and even marriage. Certainly, it’s clear that she was there for him both at his crucifixion and later at the tomb. Clearly, she held a great affection for the Master. This particular imagining deals with both the human and the spiritual journey that Mary Magdalene must have taken in the last days of the presence of the man and the continuing presence of the Christ.”
This song is from Julia’s album Upon the Mountain, consisting of twelve inspirational songs sung in a fusion of Pop, Classical and Folk textures that will appeal to and inspire all ages. There is also sheet music available for this solo, which can be found by clicking here.
