2nd Quarter 2020: Inside This Issue

Dear Solo Thoughts Friends,

“Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”*

That’s the Golden Text for the April 12th Christian Science Bible Lesson on Easter Sunday. This Bible Lesson is full of the themes that we love to express in song: victory, salvation, joy, resurrection.

We’ve curated a special list of 2 dozen sacred solos covering different aspects of the Easter story and its spiritual significance – all in varied musical styles ranging from traditional to contemporary.

For those of you who are new to Solo Thoughts – that’s what we do! We study the Bible Lessons in advance. We research an ever-expanding database of solos and their music and lyrics. We choose between 12 and 24 solo suggestions per week to create 13 curated lists of solo suggestions for each of the Bible Lessons in the quarter.

It is our goal to offer a wide-ranging variety of sacred solos that are carefully and specifically matched to each of the Weekly Bible Lessons. These include new, contemporary, traditional and even out-of-print solos that you may have in tucked away in your own church music library!

As you move through this PDF research document, we hope that you will enjoy perusing the Preface Pages that follow. They are full of additional information geared to help you grow and develop the music in your church.

Featured in the New Music Update this quarter is a list of Spanish solos that we offer on watchfiremusic.com.

Additionally, the Composer Spotlight is on The Solo Committee!

If you have the full quarter issue of Solo Thoughts (not by the month) you can download a free digital sheet music title from this beloved trio of singer/songwriters.

Wishing you Easter Gladness and Springtime Joy!
