Inspirational Song of the Week: Monday – Sunday, May 15 – May 21, 2017
“My Heart Will Go On/Hymn to the Sea” from “Signature”
Performed by Mary Beth Carlson

Mary Beth Carlson, composer, recording artist and former Teacher of the Year, performs nationally as a pianist and speaker for a wide variety of special events. As Lead Pianist at Nordstrom Mall of America for nearly 15 years, she managed piano entertainment for most of those years. Much of her original music has been composed in honor of her daughter Jody, who was born with cerebral palsy and autism.

She has written and performed music specifically for the International Special Olympics, Arc, Fraser Community Services, Children’s Cancer Research Fund, and the Alzheimer’s Association. “A Bridge Over Time,” the title song for one of Mary Beth’s albums, is featured on Lasting Memories, a fund raising project for the Minnesota Alzheimer’s Association, produced by Grammy Award-winning artist J.D. Steele. Fortunate to have had opportunities to perform for a variety of distinguished audiences, she was particularly honored to have been invited by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to present a concert of restoration to guests from forty countries at The Cove in Asheville, NC.

“Mary Beth’s music blends artistic skill with mood and emotion … a complete artist!” — Scott Thomsen, former host at KCFE Radio, Minneapolis, MN

“Having had the opportunity to share the stage with Mary Beth, I admire the powerfully spiritual and emotional depth of her music and her performance. She creates a uniquely warm and intimate connection with her audience … a talented, charming, extraordinary performer!” — Jim Brickman, Grammy nominated Platinum Record Artist

“Listening to Mary Beth Carlson play is like standing in the light of love.” — Dinah Eng, Gannett News Service
