Two of the songs are recent originals about adoption, two others were written by Lisa, two are songs from a fellow songwriter, and the rest are traditional tunes. Lisa's previous lullaby recording “Hushabye, Lullaby” sold 50,000 copies. For over 30 years, Lisa's music has brought joy and comfort to hundreds of thousands, from cradles to retirement homes.

Sail, Baby, Sail
Words and Music: Traditional
Baby’s boat a silver moon
Sailing o’er the sea
Sailing o’er the sea of seas
Sailing home to me
Sail, Baby, Sail
Out across the sea
Only don’t forget to sail
Back again to me
Don’t You Worry
Words and Music by Mary Kelly
Whose gonna sing your song
After the lights have gone down
And everybody’s gotta get on home
Whose gonna lay you down
After a night of plenty
To rest your weary feet
Don’t you worry,
The sun will rise, but first let’s sleep
Whose gonna light you up
When all you see are cinders
And you don’t feel any heat
Whose gonna free your ghosts,
Whose gonna break their silence
And bring you a little peace
Don’t you worry,
The sun will rise but first let’s sleep
Whose gonna write the songs,
When all the words are used up
And all the roads are traveled down
Don’t you worry,
You’ll find your own and
Maybe then you’ll get some sleep
Waiting for You
Words by Lisa Redfern
Music: Traditional
You’re the child I’ll raise as mine
I’ve loved you from the start
I’ve been waiting here for you
And holding you in my heart
I can almost see your eyes
Can almost hear your voice
Someone loves you very much
But has to make a choice
Are you across the ocean wide?
Or maybe somewhere near
Wherever you will come from
Know that I’ll hold you here
Though my losses brought me here
And loss brings you to me
When we meet we’ll build our life
It’s beautiful, you will see
Hush Little Baby
Words: Traditional
Music by Lisa Redfern
Hush little Baby don’t say a word
Mama’s gonna buy you a mockingbird
And if that mockingbird don’t sing
Mama’s gonna buy you a diamond ring
And if that diamond ring turns to glass
Mama’s gonna buy you a looking glass
And if that looking glass gets broke
Mama’s gonna buy you a billy goat
And if that billy goat won’t pull
Mama’s gonna buy you a cart and bull
And if that cart and bull turn over
Mama’s gonna buy you a dog names Rover
And if that dog names Rover won’t bark
Mama’s gonna buy you a horse and cart
And if that horse and cart fall down
You’ll still be the sweetest little baby in town
Tell Me Why
Words and Music: Traditional
Tell Me Why the stars do shine
Tell me why the ivy twines
Tell me why the skies are blue
And I will tell you just why I love you
Because God made the stars to shine
Because God made the ivy twine
Because God made the skies so blue
Because God made you, that’s why I love you
I really think that God above
Created you for me to love
He picked you out from all the rest
Because he knew I’d love you the best
Riddle Song
Words and Music: Traditional
I gave my love a cherry
That had no stone
I gave my love a chicken
That had no bone
I told my love a story
That had no end
I gave my love a baby
With no cryin’
How can there be a cherry
That has no stone
How can there be a chicken
That has no bone
How can there be a story
That has no end
How can there be a baby
With no cryin’
Well, a cherry when it’s blooming
It has no stone
A chicken when it’s pippin’
It has no bone
The story that I love you
It has no end
A baby when it’s sleeping
Has no crying
Orphans Lullaby
Words and Music by Lisa Redfern
In a foreign orphanage
In Russia and Taiwan
In Haiti and Peru
Sits waiting little you
When you cry out in need
You have to rock yourself to sleep
They do the best they can
But there aren’t enough hands
Wish I could hold you tonight
And sing an orphans lullaby
Down in Guatemala
In Africa and China
As an orphan far away
You’re just waiting for your day
In dreams they come for you
You have a home of your own
You know you belong
When they sing you your song
Wish I could hold you tonight
And sing an orphans lullaby
Down in the Valley
Words and Music: Traditional
Down in the valley, the valley so low
Hang your head over, hear the wind blow
Hear the wind blow, dear, hear the wind blow
Hang your head over, hear the wind blow
Roses love sunshine, violets love dew
Angels in heaven, know I love you
Know I love you, dear, know I love you
Angels in heaven, know I love you
If you don’t love me, love whom you please
Throw your arms ’round me, give my heart ease
Give my heart ease, dear, give my heart ease
Throw your arms ’round me, give my heart ease
Build me a castle 40 feet high
So I can see you as you ride by
As you ride by, dear, as you ride by
So I can see you as you ride by
Write me a letter, containing three lines
Answer my question, “Will you be mine?”
Will you be mine, dear, will you be mine
Answer my question, “Will you be mine?”
Sleep, Baby, Sleep
Words by Lisa Redfern
Music: Welsh hymn
You’ve had your bath, you’ve had your playtime
Sleep, baby, sleep
Bring your books, it’s nearing bedtime
Sleep, baby, sleep
Peter Rabbit, Piglet and Pooh
Babaar and The Little Prince too
They are wishing sweet dreams for you
Sleep, baby, sleep
Daddy sang his song for you
Sleep, baby, sleep
Now I’ll sing my own song too
Sleep, baby, sleep
How we love you, how we adore you
We would change the whole world for you
But for now the rest restores you
Sleep, baby, sleep
Pillows soft and blankets warm
Sleep, baby, sleep
We will keep you safe from harm
Sleep, baby, sleep
As you’re drifting off to dreamland
I will keep hold of your little hand
Sleep, baby, sleep
Beautiful Dreamer
Words and Music by Stephen Foster
Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me
Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee
Sounds of the rude world heard in the day
Lulled by the moonlight have all passed away
Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song
List while I woo thee with soft melody
Gone are the cares of life’s busy throng
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me
Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea
Mermaids are chanting the wild Lorelei,
Over the streamlet vapors are borne
Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn.
Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart
E’en as the morn on the streamlet and sea,
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart.
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me
Lay Down Lullaby
Words and Music by Lisa Redfern
Laydown your pen and close the door
Don’t force the story anymore
Shut your eyes and still your mind
Mother will send ideas in time
Sleep, sister, sleep (x 3)
Your muse will be there tomorrow
Laydown your brush and colors bright
Dreams will dare you through the night
In oils and gouaches you’ll paint scenes
Father’s appearing by degrees
Sleep, brother, sleep (x 3)
Your canvas will be there tomorrow
Laydown your trowel and lavender
All your life a garden of prayer
They went before you but they are near
Your daughters smell your roses from here
Sleep, Honey, sleep (x 3)
Your garden will be there tomorrow
Laydown my song and think of you
This lullaby is for you two
In dreams you guide me through it all
To rise in love instead of fall
Sleep, Lisa, sleep (x 3)
Your song will be there tomorrow
Goodnight, Someone
Words and Music by Mary Kelly
Goodnight, someone
The sun has gone down for the day
You’ve done all you can do to keep the darkness away
But sometimes you need the darkness
To let you know there will be light
So goodnight, someone, goodnight
Goodnight, someone
Why the sad, tired look on your face
Have the years gone by you,
Do you need to get out of this place?
But sometimes you have to be
willing to get to the place that’s alright
So goodnight, someone, goodnight
Goodnight, someone,
Does the struggle weigh heavy on you
Do you know there’s someone
Who would gladly say ‘goodnight’ to you
But sometimes you have to be
Willing to stand up and face the night
But for now close your eyes, let the darkness subside
So, goodnight dear someone, goodnight.
Peace
Words and Music: Traditional
Peace I ask of thee, oh river
Peace Peace Peace
When I learn to live serenely
Cares will cease
From the hills I gather courage
Visions of the days to be
Strength to lead and faith to follow
All are given unto me
Peace I ask of thee, oh river
Peace Peace Peace
