Lyrics

I Cannot Fall
(Words by William Aubert Luce)
Music by Martin Broones

I cannot stray, I cannot fall,
My heav”nly Father watches over all.
Man is no fallen angel from above,
He lives and moves within the world of Love.

I cannot wander through a starless night,
For Gods upholds me in eternal light,
Within His arms my heart can feel at home.
The child of God can never roam.

I love the freedom of the open sky,
To walk in sunlight with my head held high,
God gave His child dominion over all.
I cannot stray, I cannot fall.

And so, my heart, in time of strife
When ev’ry joy is taken from your life,
Arise in strength and face the coming dawn,
The hand of God will gently lead you on.

I will rejoice because I understand
That man has never left his native land,
My heav’nly Father watches over all,
I cannot stray, I cannot fall.
