Lyrics

He Gave Them Sight
Music: Jim E. Barnes and Susan I. Lindquist
Words: Jim E. Barnes, adapted from the Bible (Mark 10: 46-52)

Jesus preached the gospel, and healed sickness among the people and to many
that were blind he gave them sight.

As he went out of a village, blind Bartimaeus sat begging.
When he heard it was Jesus passing by, he began to cry out and say:
Jesus, son of David, have mercy, have mercy on me.
Jesus, son of David, have mercy, have mercy on me.

And many charged him to hold his peace,
but he cried a great deal more.
Jesus, son of David, have mercy, have mercy on me.

Jesus asked Bartimaeus, What can I do unto thee?
The blind man said unto him: Lord, that I may receive my sight.
And Jesus said unto him:
Go thy way, go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole,
thy faith hath made thee whole.

And immediately, Immediately, he received his sight,
and followed Jesus in the way.
And in that same hour, Jesus healed many of their diseases, and to those
that were blind,
He gave them sight, He gave them sight.
