CUÁN DICHOSO ES EL HOMBRE
HOW HAPPY IS THE MAN

Al hombre que yo elija, dijo el Señor,
The man I choose, said God the Lord,
al hombre que yo elija, su vara florecerá.
the man I choose, his staff shall bloom.
Y en aquella mañana brillante y clara,
And on that morn, that bright clear morn,
la vara infructuosa brotó y floreció dando fruto.
the barren staff had bud, and bloom, and fruit.
Cuán dichoso es el hombre a quien Dios elegirá.
How happy is the man whom God shall choose.
Y cuando el fruto en árbol transformó,
And when the fruit became a tree,
Dios eligió al hombre_el Cristo Jesús.
God chose the man we know as Jesus Christ.
El vio el reino de Dios como real y actual,
He knew the kingdom of God, he knew it real and now.
y al hombre como Su hijo bien amado.
He knew man to be the loved child of God.
Por eso murió y de la tumba resucitó
For this he died, but from the tomb he rose
mostrando la vida eterna del hombre en Dios.
to show man’s everlasting life in God.
Cuán dichoso es el hombre sostenido por Dios.
How happy is the man sustained by such a tree.
Y de aquel árbol, un bosque surgió
And from that tree a forest grows
de voces de alabanza resonando más y más:
of voices ever sounding more and more:
Y en aquella mañana brillante y clara,
And on this morn, this very morn,
Dios nos eligió para la vida en Cristo.
God chooses us to life in Christ.
Y en aquella mañana la desesperanza se elevó a la alegría y a la vida.
And on this morn, this very morn, the barren hope is raised to joy and life.
¡Cuán dichoso, cuán dichoso es el hombre a quien Dios elegirá!
How happy, how happy is the man whom God shall choose!
