He sent his Word and healed them When sorrow bowed them low; They felt his deep compassion Like healing waters flow. O, Love past understanding, Our mortal woes to heal, That hope of life eternal Thou didst to us reveal. He sent his Word and healed them, When mortal ills prevailed; The power of God restored them, When human skill had failed. God, give us grace to trust Thee, Give courage to the soul, That we may hear Thee saying, That we may hear Thee saying: “Thy faith hath made thee whole, hath made thee whole.” He sent his Word and healed them, When crushed beneath their sin, And life seemed full of meaning, Which empty once had been. O, wonderful the mercy He offers you and me, “Although thy sins are many, They are forgiven thee!” O, wonderful his mercy, “Although thy sins are many, They are forgiv’n, They are forgiv’n forgiven thee.”
