The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: and He taught them, saying, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; use not vain repetitions, for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever, forever and ever.
