Originally written for voice, two flutes and organ and can be performed with Tenor Recorder replacing the 2nd flute. This piece has a lilting flow, starting with a somewhat ethereal sound in the beginning to a more folk like melody for the majority of the solo. None of the individual instrumental parts are hard to play. The version for organ and voice alone captures the feeling of the original when played with the proper organ registrations.

The kingdom of God. The kingdom of God.
Seek the kingdom of God.

Consider the lilies, how they grow they toil not neither do they spin
But oh so beautiful and clothed in more glory than the wisest of men.
Better an handful with quietness
Than both the hands full with trouble and strife.
Better a handful with quietness
Than both the hands full with trouble and strife,
Kingdom of God. Kingdom of God.

Ask not yourself, “What shall I eat?” seeking for what you shall drink.
Seek first the kingdom of God for He knows that we need all of these things
Better an handful
with quietness
Than both the hands full with trouble and strife.
Better a handful with quietness.

Kingdom of God. Kingdom of God.
Seek the kingdom of God.
