Nicholas P. Schliapin is a prolific composer whose output ranges from early American shape note songs and hymns to sophisticated contemporary works. He has had a long and distinguished career as a church pianist and organist.
Two of his hymn tune compositions are published in the 2017 Christian Science Hymnal – Know, O Child, Your Full Salvation (518) and Love Is Kind and Suffers Long (530).
Many of Mr. Schliapin’s works were published by Wordlight Publishing, and Watchfire Music is pleased to make these formerly out-of-print treasures available again.
A note from the composer:
“Schliapin” is pronounced “Shlappin.” In Russian “ia” is one letter. My father came from Russia.
