There’ve been so many times
I’ve said the wrong thing.
So many times
I didn’t carry my load.
It’s a wonder I still can see a light shining.
It’s a wonder I have
Any chance left at all.

And I gotta go down to the water and shine up my soul.
I gotta jump into the fountain of hope.

Well, I gotta get back to the river,
Let the current surround me,
Come out a little bit cleaner on the other side.

That I’ve been mistaken.
So many times
That I fell off the road.
It’s a wonder I’m here
With all the detours I’ve taken.
It’s a wonder I’ve made it this far at all.
