Music is the way that I choose
To be where I want to be

I never thought about the way the birds can sing
How on Earth does Spirit bring a melody

And I never looked upon the rhythm of my breath
As music I can (that I) rest upon each day

But when I think about the music of the waves at every tide
And when I hear the lilting voices as the children run and hide

Music is the way that I choose
To be where I want to be
The way that I live
As Spirit speaks to me

I never thought about the symphony of sound
That wakes me up each morning ‘round the light of day

I never thought about the songs my soul composed
To bring me to the love and peace my heart enfolds
