Didn’t see it comin’—
Just mindin’ my way—
When the smile on her face mesmerized me.
A fresh morning breeze?
Or the tempest’s breath?
Only time will tell.

Wasn’t lookin’ for it—
Just doin’ my job.
But the look in her eye caught my fancy.
A vision of loveliness?
Or a hypnotic spell?
Only time will tell.

When you least expect it, life throws you a curve
And ready or not you must face it.
You’ll either stand strong
Or you’ll lose all your nerve.
Only time will tell.

Couldn’t understand it—
I tried to be good.
But her movements just caught my attention.
A morsel of love?
Or just bait on a hook?
Only time will tell.

Well, I knew I should leave,
But I knocked on the door.
And her arms were wide open and waiting.
The entrance to heaven?
Or the pathway to hell?
Only time will tell.

Your life takes a turn,
And ready or not you must face it.
You’ll either hang on,
Or you’ll spin off the road.

Will the waves bear you up?
