Sugar Drive

It’s a little early in the morning
To be singing this old song.
But the bluebirds and the robins
Beckon me to sing along.
The morning brings the promise of another sunny day.
The beams of light are chasing
The darkness all away.

And everyone I see
Is smiling back at me,
And there’s nowhere else
That I can feel so free.
All the love we share
Just makes me feel alive
Every time I come back home
To Sugar Drive.

And as I face the challenges
I meet throughout the day,
I may exceed my comfort zone,
But Love points out the way.
I may be in a cave of mud,
Or zipping through the trees,
If I stand still just long enough,
I’ll feel that Cedars’ breeze.

And every place I go
Reminds me that I know
That the love we share
Is mirrored as we go.
And with every turn
There are lessons to be learned.
I just feel alive back home
On Sugar Drive.

And as the evening settles
And the dinner bell is rung,
I realize there are many other
Verses to be sung.
I share a tale and have a laugh,
And play a game or two.
Then it’s off to bed
To rest my head
