A wonderful Christmas medley incorporates O Come Emmanuel, Hark the Herald, Joy to the World set against texts from Isaiah 7 & 60 and Luke 2. Very dramatic but fairly easy to sing. Congregations will love it! This Alternate Ending version is slightly shorter than the original - the phrase "Rejoice! Immanuel has come to thee, O Israel" is cut.

Lyrics

Immanuel

Words from Isaiah 7 & 60 and Luke 2
A Christmas medley by Carolyn Kardinal

Behold! A virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call His name
Immanuel, God with us. And people shall come to His light and kings to the
brightness of His rising.

And there were shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch o’er their flocks by night,
keeping watch o’er their flocks by night.
And lo! The angel of the Lord came upon them,

and the glory of the Lord shown round about them,
and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them,
Fear not. Fear not, for behold I bring you tidings,
good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of
David a Savior which is Christ the Lord.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude
of heav’nly host praising God, praising God, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace,
good will to men.”

Arise! Shine, for thy light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
And the people shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Hark! The herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King!”
Immanuel! Immanuel!
Immanuel!
