In humble prayer, dear Lord, I come to Thee, Who knowest all my longing heart would say; O give me grace, that faithful I may be From day to day, from day to day. O help me, Lord, to see my duty clear, And strive my heavenly Father to obey; In every thought Thy holy Name revere From day to day, from day to day. I do not ask Thy ways to understand; My cares and burdens at Thy feet I lay, For all my life is in Thy loving Hand From day to day, from day to day. So when, at eventide, I come to Thee, I shall not fear the peril of the way While Thou art near, to help and comfort me At close of day, at close of day. through every moment, Lord, be Thou my stay, And hear my humble prayer from day to day.
