They that go down to the sea in ships,
That do business in great waters;
These see the works of the Lord,
And his wonders in the deep.
They that go down to the sea in ships,
And adventure in His oceans
These hold the hand of the Lord,
Both in tempest and in sleep
For He commands,
And raises the stormy wind
Which lifts the waves thereof.
They mount up to heaven,
They go down to the depths of the deep
The waves, the waves they rule the sea
But in turn
Are ruled by God who holds
The heavens and earth and seas
In His grips
And they that go down to the sea in ships
Give thanks unto the Lord,
For all He does
He makes the storm a calm,
So that the waves are still.
He stays the wind,
He soothes the quake
With the impulse of His will
He quiets the night and ebbs the tide
And brings us to safe harbor
