A Note from Julia
“Working on this album with Jenny Burton, Rebecca Minor and Peter Link has been a true joy and privilege. We had a wonderful time singing together in the ensembles — and each of these guest artists shine in their own brilliant light in their solo work.
The songs on the album beautifully illuminate aspects of the Christmas story while highlighting the presence of the Christ in our lives today — and there are several songs that are pure, unabashed fun! I hope you feel the love and joy that went into the making of this album with these talented artists and my good friends.May the music bring you a sense of the sacred as well as the celebration and wonder of this holiday season. Merry Christmas!” ~Julia Wade

Wonderful
Text by Mary Baker Eddy
Lyrics adapted from the Book of John
Music by Peter LinkThe wakeful shepherd beholds
The first faint morning beams,
Ere cometh the full radiance
Of a risen day.
So shone the pale star
To the prophet-shepherds;
Yet it traversed the night, and came
Where, in cradled obscurity, lay
The Bethlehem babe,
And his name shall be called Wonderful,
WonderfulThe people that walked in darkness
Have seen a very great light:
For unto us a child is born,
And a son is given:
And the government shall be upon his shoulder:And his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counselor,
The Mighty God,
The Everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace
Yes his name shall be called WonderfulNow the Son of man is glorified,
Yes and God is glorified in him.
Verily, he says unto you,
“He that believeth on me,
The works that I do shall he do also;
And greater works than these shall he do;If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father,
And he shall give you another Comforter”The prophet of today
Beholds in the mental horizon
The signs of these times,
The reappearance of the Christianity
Which heals the sick
And destroys error,
And no other sign shall be given. When a new spiritual idea is borne to earth,
The prophetic Scripture of Isaiah is renewedly fulfilled:
Saying “Unto us a child is born, . . .”
“Unto us a child is born, . . .”And his name shall be called Wonderful.”
Counselor,
The Mighty God,
The Everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace
Yes his name shall be called Wonderful
Wonderful
Yes he is wonderful

My Friend Gabriel
Music and Lyrics by Peter LinkMy friend Gabriel
As long as I have known him
Could play that trumpet
Oh yes, he could playI would hear him in the night
Soaring
Oh Lord he could play that hornI would hear him in the day light
Pouring out those brilliant notes
And sounding forth the music of GodOh my
Oh yes
That Gabriel
He could playMy friend Gabriel
Was also quite the angel
Besides that trumpet
Oh yes, he could speakHe was always God’s first call
That Gabriel
To bring the word of God unto the worldAnd whenever God had something
Something mighty big to say
My friend Gabriel was the messenger of GodWhy I remember way back when,
His immortal words,
As he changed the face of the worldHe said, “I am Gabriel
And I stand in the presence of God;“Oh fear not, Mary: for thou hast found God’s favor
And, behold, thou shall conceive,
And bring forth a son,
(Oh yeah
I wish I could play my horn)
And you shall call his name JESUS.”“And of his kingdom there shall be no end.”
It was Gabriel spoke these words
That live on today
Yes the night I remember most
Was the night I heard him play
On the night the child was born
And I got so excited
They had to carry me awayI remember that night
Oh my that Gabriel he could play
Yes the night I remember most
Was the night I heard him play
The night the child was bornDoncha know that angel could play that horn
Oh my that Gabriel could play

It's All About Love
Music by Peter Link
Words by Dora Redman and Peter LinkThere was no room for us in the inn
And before he could close the door
I begged and wept,
"There is no other place around
For my wife is with child
And she just needs a place to lie down"
But with a callused heart and without a care
Much to my despair he began to close the door
"Wait now, good sir! We cannot be denied.
For the child comes forth tonight
And if not a room the stable will do
And a candle to light our way
Oh please, good sir, find it in your heart
For we have not a place to stay"But he could not allow a fire in the stable
And she could never give birth without lightThe light? the light!
Do you see the light?
It comes down from the Heavens
The star? The star!
Do you see the star?
The star that lights the way?The song! The song!
Do you hear the voices of angels
That sing in the night
The hope! The wonder!
Can you not feel the promise?
Of the coming of the Son of God
It's in the air! It's everywhere!
It's in the air! It's everywhere!
And It's all about love
It's all about loveSo, he let us go down to the stable
As he turned back inside the Inn
As the night went on
The light it came down all around
And the Shepherd boys prayed
And the wise men brought gifts from afar
And then the angels sang till the heavens rang
And the babe was born in the glory of that night
And the innkeeper stood in his window and watched
As the manger was bathed in light
And on that night with spirit reborn
In his heart he found love at last
With basket of bread and a jug of wine
He then joined us and shared his repastThere was so much peace
In this meek little place
And it beckoned to set his heart free.
So we all sang, the angels, the shepherds, the wise men,
The innkeeper, Mary and me.The Child! The Child!
Do you see the child?
That came down from the Heavens
The Peace! The Peace!
Do you feel the peace?
That flows on through his eyes
The Song! The Song!
Do you hear the voices of angels?
That sing in the dawn
The hope! The wonder!
Can you not feel the promise?
Of the coming of the Son of GodIt's in the air! It's everywhere! x2
And It's all about love,
Can you not feel the promise?
Yes it's in the air! It's everywhere! x2
And It's all
The hope, the wonder
about love,It's in the air! It's everywhere! x2
And It's all about love,
This my child, the Son Of God!
Hallelujah!

Bird song
The Christ is born
Spread the word

The song of peace
Sweet release
Sail on silver bird
Across the world
Spread the word
A new age dawns
As the silver bird streaks
Across the red sun
Across the rising sunSail on silver bird
Across the world
Sail on little bird
And take this message
That the son of God
Has joined us on this earth
And brings us nothing but the good wordIt’s the word of God
He brings to all
It’s a kind of peace
That lasts forever
It’s a love that radiates
From one to one another
Never fading awaySail and sing your song, Bird
As you soar among the mountains
As you wind along the rivers of life
Sing it to each heart
Sing into the mind of mankindSilver bird fly
From this stable

Through the masses and the chaos of life

And sing your song

Music and Lyrics by Peter LinkIsn’t it quite a time
Holy
Isn’t it quite a day
Christ is born
Isn’t it quite a place
This manger
Here in the Father’s house
On this dayIsn’t he quite the child
Sleeping
Feel the peace he brings
Child of God
Isn’t it quite a thing
Of wonder
Here in the miracle
Of this dayIn this simple backcountry stable
The Father’s son, the savior is born
Born into this humble straw cradle
And now the world awaits the promise of this
Glorious mornIsn’t it quite a time
Hosanna
We welcome ascendant man
This sweet child
Here in our Father’s house
Holy
And oh how the world will change
From this day forthIt’s time to sing hallelujah
Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Isn’t it time to sing hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelu
HalleluHere beneath a star we have gathered
Here in that manger
Here to celebrate this moment sublime
Knowing that we stand on this threshold
Glorifying God in this moment in timeIsn’t it quite the hour
Holy
Isn’t it quite the time
To celebrate
Gloria
It’s a new day of promise
Isn’t it quite the day
Of promise

Original Melody: Greensleves
Lyrics by William C. Dix
Additional Music & Lyrics by Peter LinkWhat child is this who, laid to rest
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you;
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
What Child is this whom angels greet
This is the Christ, the king
So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come peasant, king to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby;
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
What Child is this whom angels greet
This is the Christ, the king
What child is this
On Mary’s lap lay sleeping

Heaven in His Eyes
Lyrics by Dora Redman
Music by Peter LinkThe star hovered above a stable
And the light from the star lit up the space
I just stood there at a distance
Above this meek and lowly place
This wasn’t what I expected to find
And I wondered why the savior of mankind
Would come to us in this humble way
Just lying there on a mere bed of hayBut I saw heaven in his eyes
It’s not a distant place way up in the skies
Above the moon and stars
With pearly gates and streets of gold
And all the other wondrous things that I’ve been told
But much to my surprise
I found that Heaven is within
It’s a home inside my heart where I’ve always been
And I carry it with me
Yes I carry it with me everywhere I go
Yes I found Heaven
When I saw heaven in his eyesSo I stood there right there before the manger
Only stillness and calm could be found
Even though I’m called a wise one
I was too moved to voice a sound
Anticipation led me right to my knees
And the sweetest of moments
Filled me with such ease
And lifted my perception so I could see
When the Christ child in delight looked at meThen I saw heaven in his eyes
It’s not a distant place way up in the skies
Above the moon and stars
With pearly gates and streets of gold
And all the other wondrous things that I’ve been told
But much to my surprise
I found that Heaven is within

Jingle Bells
Original Music and Lyrics by James Lord Pierpont
Additional Music and New Lyrics by Peter LinkDashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the wayBells on bob tail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonightOh jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleighHey! jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleighA night or two ago
We thought we’d take a ride
Dashing through the snow
Across the countrysideThe moonlight through the trees
And all the wintry white
Was such a wondrous sight to see
We forgot it was the nightOh what a night it was
Oh what a time it wasWe lost all time that night
But finally turned around
Exhausted by the night’s delight
And sadly homeward boundThe air was cold and grey
The quiet most profound
The clip clop of the horse’s hooves
And bells the only soundOoooooh jingle bells, jingle bells,
They jingle all the way;
Oh my what a great night it was to ride
In a one-horse open sleighJingle bells, jingle bells,
Laughing all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
As we slide across the countryside
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleighOh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh

The Night I Met St. Nick
Music and Lyrics by Peter LinkI was hiding ‘hind the sofa
When he came down the chimney
Cuz I did not believe
He could ach-ally come down the chimney
But he came down the chimney
Just like they always said he would
Uh hum yeah
With a grunt and a whoosh ... and kerplop! It amazed me so, I forgot I was hiding
So, I stood up in amazement at a fat man in a red suit
With a scowl upon his face.
“What in tarnation are you doing up now
At this ungodly hour, young lady?”
He said as he texted on his iPhone back up North to his elf“Well, Mr. Claus,” I replied, most polite,
“I guess I just had to see for myself!”“Well now you’ve gone an’ done it!”
As he pulled out his list.“Let’s see here uuuuuuhhhhh, you must be young Julie
Is that right?”
“Well, that’s right!” said I.
“Well you’re now in big trouble, sure as pie”“I got a most busy schedule now you’re makin’ me late
Right now I oughta be back in my sled instead
So go ahead now ... an’ go back to bed!
And doncha be peekin’ through the keyhole.”When I got up that morning — that Christmas morning—
There was nothing in my stocking but a lump of coal
RatsI woulda cried my eyes out, but remember, good people
It was just a dream
Just a dream ...
It was just a dream about the night I met St. NickI dunno if he was a saint, but he sure was cute!
OK, don’t go away. There’s more to this story.Next Christmas Eve I was hidin’ again ‘hind the sofa
As he whooshed down the chimney
“I remember you,
You’re that girl, you’re Julie,”
That’s right, cutie pie.
“You were trouble from the git go
An’ now you’re back again, my friend.
Uh hum yeah
This ain’t right an’ it’s just got to stop”“Only this time ach-ally I’m kinda glad ta’ see ya’,
I’m a little bit stuck here
Got a flat tire on a reindeer
An’ I’m plum done outta spares.”Who ever heard of such a thing like that?
Well now remember, good people
It was just a dream
Just a dream …
It was just a dream about another night I met St. NickI never promised it would make much sense.
So I grabbed him my ol’ trusty bicycle pump
An’ we went swoosh up the chimney in a flashAnd there stood Dasher, Dancer, Prancer an’ the others
I fixed that ol’ flat tire in the blink of a lash
An’ old Saint Nick was off like a shotHe’s shoutin’ “Merry Merry Christmas” across the sky
“To all a Happy Happy New Year”
He never looked back
He never said thanks
He just disappeared into the cloudsHold on, just wait a minute, Santa!
Here I am stuck on the roof!
An’ no way I’m goin’ back down that chimney
It’s too darn dirty an’ I just don’t have it in me
An’ besides you never even said thank youWhen I got up that morning — that Christmas morning —
My stocking was filled to the brim and overflowing
Presents in the kitchen
Presents in the bath tub
Presents in the attic and presents in the shed
And even one more under the pillow in my bed.I coulda cried my eyes out
At all the presents he left me
But then again my friend
It was just a dream
It was just a dream about the night I met
Or was it?
Nah …
It was just a dream about the night I met St. Nick

Christmas In My Soul
Music and Lyrics
by
Peter LinkIt looks as though
There won't be snow on Christmas
And the holly and the mistletoe
Were sold out long ago
The midtown rush was just a little too much
And this year santa and his reindeer
Never left the poleSuddenly it just don't seem like Christmas
Suddenly it don't seem so naturalLooking for Christmas
Looking for Christmas
Looking for Christmas
Trying to find a little Christmas in my soul
Takin' my time
Trying to find a little Christmas in my soulBut somehow a church bell caught my ear
Somehow a little child caught my eye
Somehow an old man playing on his trumpet
Stopped that drummer in me
With a ty- rie -die-dee-i
Rie -die-dee-i
Rie -die-dee-i-i-i-iAnd suddenly it all seemed very simple
And suddenly it all seemed so naturalLooking for Christmas
Looking for Christmas
Looking for Christmas
Trying to find a little Christmas in my soulSomehow the whole affair almost slipped on by
I nearly lost the childhood dream
I plumb forgot the reason why
And all my Christmas longings
Were simply left behind
As I went running through the wrappings
And the ribbons and the rhyme
And rollin' through december
Like a man against timeLooking for Christmas
Looking for Christmas
Looking for Christmas
Trying to find a little Christmas in my soul
Takin' my time
Trying to find a little Christmas in my soul
Takin' my time
Trying to find a little Christmas in my soul

I Remember Christmas
Music and Lyrics by Peter LinkNames and moments and faces and words
Names and moments and faces and words
Names and moments and faces and words
The things of my past now a little bit blurredYa’ see sometimes my mind gets hung up in the fluff
Yeah it’s mostly superfluous useless stuff
But occasionally something of note gets lost
My neurons and synapse and wires get crossed
And it drives me a little bit crazy
When it’s all a little bit hazy
Then is gone in the blink of an eyeNow the ol’ mem’ry’s usua’ly pretty good I trust
Most of the time
It works just fine
But some of the time
Well, it just turns to dustBut I remember Christmas
And I remember tinsel
And I remember stockings hung with care
I remember children and bells
And angels with wings and ribbons of silk
And chimneys and cookies and milkI remember mistletoe
And men of snow
And reindeer prancing on tiptoe
French toast a’toasting and chestnuts a’roasting,
And silent night
Oh what a night!Yes I remember Christmas
And I remember angels
And I remember light in Bethlehem
I remember Mary and Joseph
And that little babe that lay in the hay
And the shepherds and the wise men threeAnd I know that God was there
And hope was there
And the music came down from the heavens
And the star above sang
Of the promise of peace
In a silent night
And all was so brightWell ya’ know I must have forgotten more than I know
But at least I know what I’ve not forgotten
The insignificant lost long ago
The mostly unnecessary lost long agoBut I remember Christmas
I remember tinsel
And I remember stockings hung with care
I remember children and bells
And angels with wings and ribbons of silk
And chimneys and cookies and milk
I remember mistletoe and men of snowYes I remember Christmas
I remember Christmas
Yes I remember Christmas
