And we solemnly promise to watch and pray
And we must not take this promise lightly
For it is a promise in earnest
A ceaseless covenant with God

To watch and pray for that mind to be in us
Which was also in Christ Jesus
Can we walk in Christ’s shoes?
Can we abide in the consciousness
He taught us?
And can we follow in the teachings of the Wayshower?
Can we contemplate and demonstrate
The wisdom of the Master?

To do unto others
As we would have them do unto us
To treat our fellow man
As we, in turn,
Would wish to be treated
To love
And to cherish

And to be merciful
Can we be generous?
Can we be tender hearted?
Can we forgive?

And to be just
Can we be ethical?
Can we be one in spirit?
Can we be fair?

And to be pure
Can we be blameless?
Can we be undefiled?
Can we be kind?

Can we solemnly promise to watch?
Can we stay alert in every way?
In every day?
Can we solemnly promise to watch and pray?

To love
And to cherish
Can we be counted on?
Can we be constant?
Can you promise?
