Lyrics
Be Still
Lyrics: Psalm 46:10, Luke 10:38-42, Adapted by Peter B. Allen
Composer: Peter B. Allen
Be still, Be still, Be still, and know that I am God.
Be still, Be still, Be still, and know, Be still, and know that I am God.
As Jesus and his students went trav’ling along, he came to a town where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.
And Martha had a sister named Mary, who sat at Jesus’ feet, listening to ev’ry word he said.
But Martha was worried by all that she had to do. So she interrupted Jesus and said:
“Lord, doesn’t it bother you that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself?
Tell her to come here and help me!” But Jesus said,
“Martha, Martha, you’re worried and upset about so many things.
But only one thing is really important, and Mary has found it,
Mary has found it, and I won’t take it away from her.”
Be still, Be still, Be still, and know Be still, and know that I am God.
Be still, and know that I am God. Be still, and know that I am God.
Be still, and know that I am God, that I am God.
Be still, and know that I am God, that I am God.”
