Lyrics
One Lost Sheep
Lyrics: Matthew 18:12-14, Luke 15:4-7, Adapted by Peter B. Allen
Composer: Peter B. Allen
What would you do if you had a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost?
Would you not leave the ninety-nine on the hill, and look for the one that was lost?
And when you found it I’m sure that you would be more happy
For that one than for all of the ninety-nine that were not lost;
Than all of the sheep that were not lost.
And you would put it on your shoulders and carry it home.
And call your friends and neighbors together and say to them let’s celebrate,
Let’s celebrate, let’s celebrate. For I have found my sheep which was lost,
For I have found my sheep, found my sheep, found my sheep which was lost.
In the same way there is much more happiness in heaven over one sinner that repents
Than there is over ninety-nine just men who don’t need a change of heart;
More than there is over ninety-nine just men who don’t need a change of heart.
