Lyrics
Thee and Thy Soul
Music and lyrics by John Jones
Adapted from the King James Bible,, John 14, Acts 27, Romans 8, Psalms 121
Let your heart, let your heart not be troubled nor fear
Exhort thee to be of good cheer
For there shall be no loss of life here
The Lord, the Lord is thy keeper and shade
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night
For He shall preserve thee and thy soul
The Lord shall preserve thee from evil
From all evil shall thee be preserved
What shall separate us from the love of Christ
Neither famine, nor peril, nor sword
Neither death, nor life, nor angels
For thou compass us about
With songs of deliverance
We remain whole and blameless
The Lord, the Lord is my hiding place
And the very God of peace
Preserves my whole spirit and soul
The Lord shall preserve thee from evil
From all evil shall thee be preserved
What shall separate us from the love of Christ
Neither powers, things present, nor things to come,
For thou compass us about
With songs of deliverance
Sung to the prisoners, who heard them
And suddenly there came a great earthquake,
The foundations of the prison were shaken:
And immediately the doors were all opened,
And every one’s bands were loosed.
The Lord, the Lord is thy keeper and shade
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night
For He shall preserve thee and thy soul
Let your heart, let your heart not be troubled nor fear
Exhort thee to be of good cheer
For there shall be no loss of life here
