A message from Peter Link

Beware, the March winds may huff and puff and blow your house down …

Perhaps not.

Here on the East Coast we’re still buried under four feet of snow, but fear not for us. It just means that we’re digging in and gettin’ a lot of work done.

New on the horizon at Watchfire Music is a new CD from Ron Di Salvio – Songs for Jazz Legends – performed with Jazz great, Jimmy Cobb, and a host of others. Also, from Jay Holcom of Jay and Tessa Frost, a new instrumental CD, Save It For A Rainy Day, original piano compositions arranged and performed by Jay himself. Release date for both: Early in March.

Also for all you April Brahinsky fans out there, both present and future, there are many new study tracks connected to her sheet music for your convenience. Check ‘em out!

The big news around here is the success of our Inspirational Song Of The Week (ISOTW) Valentine’s Day roll out. We offered you 14 days of free Love Songs for your listening pleasure and boy did you guys ever take us up on the offer! The letters and most positive comments just poured in over the two weeks and our Google analytics were fascinating to watch.

First of all we nearly doubled the opt-in numbers in the first 3 days of the event. One lady wrote in, “Well this is just a great idea!” Well sure it is! Free music sent to your desktop every morning!! Yes we do it for you to give you the inspiration to get on with your day, but we also do it to introduce you to some of our artists. And ultimately we do it to sell their music. Without the sales, we don’t exist.

Analytics showed us that you needed a daily reminder to click and listen, so we sent out flyers to the opt ins nearly every day. Analytics also showed us that you did not need to know who the artist was or what the song was. You just trusted us to give it a listen. That was good! The trust factor is what we work very hard to build and are most proud of.

Analytics also showed that the selling numbers of Julia Wade, Jenny Burton and Peter Link CDs and singles did go up during that time, so we feel that this is something that makes sense on both sides of the fence.

Analytics also showed us what a surprising number of people there were who did not know how to work the sound on their computers. Our Customer Service department had a heyday on that issue. :o)

But most importantly, analytics showed us that the idea is a good one, and you, our beloved customers, responded as never before. Perhaps that shows us all just how popular Love is! I think we already knew this, but it’s always great to re-establish the fact.

Those who missed out can still get on board for our weekly ISOTW offerings by just clicking the ad to your right on this Home page.

So while you’re at it, better batten down the hatches. It’s March and the winds of change are upon us! [See: Pete’s Picks CD #1]

Stay tuned,
