A message from Peter Link

Aaah, June! How I love thee! You are my absolute favorite. It is always a time of promise. Isn’t that what inspiration is? The promise of creativity ... All bodes well for June.

This month the Watchfire Music Listening Room celebrates its second Summit performance starring Julia Wade with special guest star, Jenny Burton. Appearing June 19th at Summit’s Art Center, Mondo, we’ll do an evening of Inspirational Music and finish it off with an after party celebrating the birthday of yours truly – no presents allowed. I’m the man who has everything. It’s true! I can’t think of a thing I need in life except another song to write.

Our Inspirational Song Of The Week continues to grow and elicit great and grateful comments from many of you. I just sat down yesterday and put together the next 21 weeks of offerings and it was just a sweeeeet day for me listening and choosing all this rich music. You’re all in for a treat and it’s free! And better yet, it’s working for all of us because many of you are finding what a treasure trove of inspiring music we have on our site and now actually buying the music of some of these fine artists. Thanks for your support. It is needed.

Lotsa new digital sheet music. Check out the What’s New? column next door to your right and find out who’s makin’ it happen. The usual prolific composers and several new ones continue to crank out the inspiration.

On the Watchfire New Media front things are really cookin’. We’re presently working on several new websites and just finished a wondrous new site for WFM artist, Jenny Burton. It will debut one day in the first week of June. We’re now in the final steps of proofing and it will be a way to really get to know Jenny and her rich history of music. Watch for its premier in the What’s New? column as well.

For those who subscribe to our Solo Thoughts, there are some subtle changes on the surface of this coming quarter’s new edition, but there major changes on the backend making the process of putting it together simpler and more automated on the assembly leaving our staff of editors more time to be creative in the choices of appropriate songs for your church services. Through the wonderful world of spreadsheets and search engines we have organized a much more comprehensive approach to the building of this popular product. In no way is the creativity automated – in fact, the automation of search actually enhances the creativity of our editors resulting in what we feel is a better product.

Stay tuned,

Peter Link
